I have a 95 foreman 400.. my cousin was riding his daughter around the yard on it and said he shut it off in gear and after that....It's stuck in gear, between gears, something.. It will shift down to 3rd and up into 4th and 5th but I can't get it to shift below 3rd. I bypassed the nuetral switch and got it started, thinking maybe if it was running it would help but no such luck, anyone know any "quick fixes" I could try before I end up pulling the motor and tearing into it?

 

Is this an elec shift?

 

It's just the regular foot shift, they didn't have that fancy electric stuff when this one was made.
not that I would buy it with electric shift that's just one more thing that could go wrong in the mud and water.
