A friend has a older trx300fm he wants to install a warn 424, but not sure of the year model. They list two part numbers one for 88-92 and one for 93-00. I would like to know the difference in the two and a way to tell the year model.

 

The front drive shaft is longer on one than the other. To tell the year look under the gas tank. If you have one big frame tube in the center you have a 1988 to 1992. If you have two small frame tubes side by side you have a 1993 and up.
