I am 14, 5'2 and about 130 pounds, I have looked at many quads, I dont know much about them. I mostly just going to trailride sometimes goof off and drag but nothing serious. I was wondering what quad would be best for me to start out on?

i dont know what reconranger was thinking. you said you would mostly be trail riding. right?? well for one thing a blaster is not a trail quad. besides you said you were a begginer. a blaster is a 2 stroke with a full manual tranmision(not to good for a begginer that likes to trail ride). a 250ex is a great begginer quad and is okay in trails, pretty fast for a 250 though. if you would want the cluch than a 300ex is an excelent trail quad(im my opinion the best overall). if your on a tight budget you could get a 250x that is the same as a 300ex but with a little smaller engine. i would go with the 250ex though cuz it might take a while to get use to the clutch since youve probly never used one before

after you ride a little, you will start wanting more power. and if you get a little quad like they say, you will get made fun of at school ,like i did with my blaster. get a used honda 400ex for like $3000-$3500. it is reansonably ridable, and powerful, not over powerful like most others. and i learned how to use the clutch within an 30MIN ,very easy. i will even teach you how to use it!!400EX IS YOUR WAY FOR NOW.

I trail rode a Blaster for years. With the right pipe (FMF Gnarley for example), the Blaster is an ok trail bike!! A 14 year old should be able to learn to shift a manual in a pretty short amount of time.

im 14 to and i have a 2003 blaster i am 5.8ft and 103pounds and the blaster got to small so im going to get a 2004 400ex i also love riding trail and steep hills and i dont care for revers but the 400ex for me i can lift it up and move it around it ways at 375 puonds oh and i like to drag race and wheelies and from what i heard and seen the 400ex is the best wheelier im into that stuff and once u get the hole manual thing is easy to learn

For trail riding I would get a 300ex excellent reliabilty, gas milage, handling and it has reverse. I have a 300 with a 366 stroker kit and out runs most 400ex with pipe in the trails. I also have a 440ex as well but like the 300 better in the woods.
