A few weeks ago I was riding about half a mile down the street to my friends house on my 1985 atc 200x.
I saw a cop pass me then make a U-turn, I knew he was comin for me so I pulled off the road and shut off the engine.
He pulled up next to me and asked what year the atc was, I told him and he said that was cool. then he asked how far down the road
I would be riding I said 1/2 a mile, he said to be careful then left. It was that simple, I didnt try running cause i knew i would crash and die
instead I pulled over and was respectful and the cop was awesome. Have a little respect and you'll be rewarded, take off and youll either get injured or thrown in jail.

C'mon now , courtsey will have no bearing on this situation...
I was pulled over once on a piped 400ex running 67 in a 35 MPH zone. Impounded the atv....lost the keys....courtesy will get you no-where with some cops. They don't make much $, but most would probably do it for free anyways....they have too have the high of people kissing their rear.
If you were in your car the same would have happened...

So you feel courtesy will help for some types of laws broken and others it will not? This makes no sense....breaking the law is breaking the law. If I was in a car I would have got a wreckless driving ticket and been on my way.

Sure breaking the law is breaking the law and you should get punished for it, but it is not always so black and white.
INMOP you are mad that the Policeman did not extend and courtesy to you. Do you think that screaming down a public street(header on bike, Loud), 35 mph zone and you are doing 67 mph, bike is not street legal, and you are nice to him he should let you go...You did not extend him any courtesy by keeping the revs down and going 5-10 miles an hour. As compared to someone
putting along side a road to get to a riding area...You could have been in a residential area (kids runningaround) the other guy
could have been on a farm road...

Courtesy never hurts. Courtesy can keep a warning from turning into a ticket and a ticket from turning into an arrest.
Cops put their life at risk every day, don't make a lot of money, and seldom get the recognition they deserve. When you give one respect, you may be suprised at the response.

I think running from anything, even a cop, is the p$$$y way out. I'm pretty sure I could "avoid" a cop on my Raptor but then what happens? The next time he sees a bike on the street, he's gonna come down hard on them. There won't be anymore "ya'll have fun".

I'm sorta new on this forum. But, it sure sounds like there are a few youngsters on here that have a lot to learn about respect and abiding by the law. Courtesy and telling the truth is always better than running and trying to hide or lie. If you run or lie and hide, what do you EXPECT the police to do?? Even if you get a ticket it is better than being arrested. And, yes, if you run they will call every officer in the area to respond. Why? Because they don't know what your intentions are. They don't know if you'll harm them or not. So they will play it safe for them, not you. Your the bad guy at that point. And, NO, NOT ALL COPS are a$$holes!! They are regular folks just trying to make a living.
