250EX.....For Me?
#1
I'm a very experienced utility rider and I'm the guy who sticks to those utility quads, but likes a little sportiness now and then. When I'm not exploring rough terrain slowly, I'm pushing my utility to be as "sporty" as it can beand riding it fast. I was thinking about buying a 250EX for a little quicker-paced trail fun when I feel like it. The only reason I don't go for the 300 or 400 is I like that auto-clutch. If you have ridden the 250EX, can you tell me whether or not this is a good buy? Will I become bored quickly with the smaller displacement? I heard it tops out just over 50! My utility goes stronger than that.

Here's been my experience:
With the right tires it will make it through a lot of mud and water.
I weigh 180lbs. so on jumps larger than about 10 feet it gets a little
rough, but I've cleared 24 feet no problem. I'm only 5'7" tall though.
If you're over 6' tall you'll definitely be cramped.
It's very low maintenance, reliable and wheelies real easy. As far
as top end speed, I've had mine to 53 on a paved road and she's
stock except for the rear tires.
One more thing to add, I literally sunk mine in a frozen pond when I went
through the ice last year. It was submerged to the handle bars for
about 30 minutes. Once I got it out, it litterally fired right up no problem
and I drove it home. These things are freaking bullet proof!
