I have a buddy who's looking to do a few mod's on his 2000 Recon, so I figured I'd post to see what everyone else has done. Mainly looking for the best wheel/tire combo for woods/trail riding...something with better handling characteristics and less sidewall flex...and whatever can be done to extract a little more power from the engine. Will probably replace the stock air filter with a K&N, as well as a slip-on pipe. Regarding the pipe though, what is available for the Recon, and which one is the best? He's not looking for a pipe that's extremely loud...something probably close to stock levels.

Here is one free mod, adjust your throttle cable. I did it last night & the response was noticeable.

I don't know if you will get any top end. There are aftermarket filters (K&N), PIpes (IDS2) for the Recon.
