what would it take to a 300ex to make as good as a stock 400ex? please reply looking to buy one or the other depending in what is better for the money.

 

What do you want the quad for?

My opinion is get the 400ex. I have owned both, I did like the 300ex for the tight trails but I liked the 400ex much better. 400ex does not have reverse but if you are looking at a 300ex, its reverse sucks to use. I just never did. I dont miss reverse at all. If you must have reverse then get the Z400 or the kawasaki or arctic cat version of it.
