I don't know what the top speed is. But, mine will do 45mph comfortably. I could probably get going a little faster but that would be pushing it. Mind you that is according to the speadometer on the bike. I don't know how accurate that is. Mine is bone stock. I imagine one with some mods might go faster.

Top speed is about 45-48 when broken in or at least it is on mine.
Just curious though Polaris;
I noticed you replying about tires for Honda 450's on a couple other post and saying "You will need some tires soon"what does that mean? Do you have a Foreman 450 or are you thinking of getting one? Just curious since your ID name implies a Polaris 500 HO. If you don't own a Foreman read some post on them and maybe we can convert you over!!

hey 72Duster440 one of my friends that i go 4 wheeling with quite often put that post up and i was replying that his 450 is gonna need some new tires soon because the treads are low.
but anyways his honda is impressive i like how reliable it is and it has some nice low end power. i was just starting to look at them. the dealer i went to had them posted at 5999 which isnt too bad of a price. so if i ever have any problems with the polaris i can just jump on the honda. he owns a 1998 foreman and it has been running strong and starts every time unlike the polaris.
thanks for your help

Top speed on the Foreman 450ES is about 50mph, more or less depending on tires and air pressure. It is geared low for chores. The Ranchers are faster.
I didn't buy my Foreman for top end speed. I bought it for chores, and it is perfect. Think of the Foreman as a really fast tractor.
