Got to test ride New Rubicon !!!
#12
We all win, the Rubicon, just like any other new quad that comes out, forces the competition to improve in their machines in order to keep up or pass the competition. The same is going to be said about the Yamaha Raptor.
I am glad to see all of these improvements in quads, this is a good time for our sport

I would hope that Honda would have made there best one better than the competition it would only make sense to have. Sounds like and intersting tranny, i hope to get to ride one on the trail. People are right any new good technology is good for all atvers it is an awesome time to own an ATV, Sportsmans and Rubicons and all the rest are making it allot of fun to ATV.

I went to my local Dealer today to get a couple jets, lo and behold , there was a red Ruby sitting out front. Sold of course. The dealer showed me a video on the tranny, let me sit on it (carefully), and the factory trained mechanic talked to me and another guy (second on the waiting list) about some of the things they learned at school. All in all, pretty nice people. The bike oozes quality and servicability, but lest I sound like Dirt Wheels, we shall have to wait and see...

Just think how much heat the Rubicon would have put on polaris if they added disc brakes, 2 to 4 wheel drive lever, true 4 wheel drive and a IRS they have put some heat on Polaris but not nearly enough if they would have put all this on a Rubicon would Polaris had to come up with:
1. A lighter or more cc machine??
2. better brakes??
3. Improved the IRS
4. made a transmission that was auto and standard
5. electronic shift for high, low and reverse instead of lever shifting that you could shift
on the go, this could be done it is done with the 2 to 4 switch right now.
6. a suspension that could be lowered or raised
7. Made the 4 wheel drive that you could lock it in or out and make true 4 wheel hold back for steep stuff without haveing to use the trick process.
Whats your views on this one fellows...

Since the Ruby has an internal hydraulic pump, adding Power Steering would have made it truly a step ahead of everything. 'Course, adding a rear lockable differential, ala Kawasaki's Bayou 300 woud make steering easier w/o the power steering, but not enough. I'm keeping my Expedition.
