400ex,
The fact is if it wasn't for Polaris the best 4WD Honda would have would still be an old 300 4X4. It's been said several times before, if it wasn't for Polaris all utility quads would be medium sized motors with 4 inches of suspension. Whether you believe it or not Polaris has forced Honda to make their best ATV yet. And like what has been said time & again, in the end everyone will benefit.
c-ya,

Power Steering? I can only tell you that if you cannot turn a Rubicon then you really need to get in the gym and get stonger or have a checkup and see if you have some kind of undiagnosed degenerative muscle disease. The Rubicon turns as easy as my 300. Very good job.

Well, er, ah....Yes, I've got a serious muscular disease. It's called "growing old" (& senile). My friend in Texas just got a Rubicon, and I hope he lets me take it for a spin when we get to the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree. He agrees with you; it is easy to steer. Now I can't wait to try it, but after an 6 or 8 hour ride, I still think I want power steering, hehehe.

The biggest advantage of the new Honda differential, is ease of steering. My Rancher 4x4 steers as well as most two wheel drive sport quads, no kidding.

Expedtioneer-I would love to let you ride my bike for a week and see what you think. They have really done a great job. I would hope you would bring it back with some tread still on the tire. If you get to go the the Jamboree, I envy you! I have seen it in the magazines and on ATV Televison. That must be ATV Heaven.

JRM, answer me this. Why is Honda still the best selling atv manufacturer around today? If Polaris made Honda make certain things, then why is Polaris not ahead of Honda?

A few years ago (pre 450S) Hondas ult quads didn't ride so well, like the foreman 400. But the Polaris ult quads rode great (about the only good thing) compared to Hondas, thus in my oppion made Honda start thinking about better ride quality on its ult quads, 450S and now the awesome rubie. Honda has always been #1 with quality and race quads like the 250R and the Ex's. I just think that Polaris did have an impact on Honda when there Ult quads rode great compared to the older Honda TRX300 and 400. Just my 2 cents, Joe

Hey Andrew,

Did you ever stop to think that there are a few other companies that make atvs out there. Don't you think they had a lot of influence too? They may not be top sellers, but they probably have a lot of good ideas. I'm sure Honda just watches Polaris, not Kawasaki, or Suzuki or Arctic Cat. Stop taking all the credit for Polaris, they're not the only ones out there.

TxDoc2;
This will be my 4th trip to the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree. I wouldn't miss it for anything. Some new friends we met there last year (they are from Texas, too) just recieved their new Ruby, and I'm hoping I can ride it for just a mile or two. I doubt he'll part with it for a whole day, and I don't blame him. I've "paid all my dues" (retired), so I've got the time and means to spend a couple of months a year in CO and UT. Just hope they don't shut it down. Thanks for your offer on your Ruby!
