warn winch question..
#1
i have an '02 rubicon with a warn winch (installed by the dealer). on one or two occasions in the past, it stopped working briefly, then would work normally.
this past weekend, it stopped working altogether. i checked all the wires - they appear to be fine. i'll dig out the meter this weekend to see if it's getting power, but i thought i'd post first with for any advice.
anyone have any suggestions? did i burn out the motor?
thanks!

On low voltage equipment any unseen corrosion between the terminals and wire connectors is sometimes enough to stop them cold. Just looking at them, the connections may look fine but the metal to metal contact is not there. Barring the possibility of your winch or contactor going bad, what you just described are some of the typical symptoms of bad electrical connections. The voltmeter will tell you the story this weekend.

thanks for the reply - i noticed last night that one of the boots was off the terminal. the contact looked fine, but like you said.. looks can be deceiving.
i'll put the volt meter on it tomorrow.
thanks again.
