440ex bore kit?
#11
Ok how about melt down in place of over heat. If you have to get a 440 kit get the stroker 440 kit. Then you do not have to resleeve when it comes time to bore. The stroker kit will kill a 440 sleeve kit.

I don't belive that to be correct. You get better piston speed with a large bore stock stroke than you would with a stroker and if you over rev a stroker good buy rod they can't take the rpms i have a pami 760 stroker belive me i know about that and yes a stroker is nice but faster than a 440 all piston well that depends on what combo you have????
PS Vibration that must be why my girl friend likes it so much

..Im really not sure if a stroker 440 is faster then a bore 440..i do know i raced one,and didnt think much of it,but like i said iv only raced one..Cannons have a 95mm piston and 61mm stroke, the yamaha 450 and honda 450 both arent to fare from that, what im getting at is theres a fine line between bore and stroke,Sparks 465ex uses a 92mm piston i think?..and it runs lilke a raped ape....I know for a fact that a 440 bore piston is not a lot heaver and will not create a lot of vibration.I weighed my stock piston to my 89mm piston"its been a long time" but i know we got it with in 10 grams...1 gram is about the weight of a dollor bill..I want to say we got it lighter then a stock piston, but its just been to long almost 2 years..maybe tommor ill look in my notes and see for sure what the #'s were..

Call LRD Performance and they will answer all your questions. They can set you up with a ( 440 ) kit that will have one repair size. I have had mine for 3 yrs and no problems... I use Mickey Dunlops auxillary oil cooler and it works great. It takes a little over a half quart more oil that just stock.. One of the best mods for my 440ex... I also use air scoops and my cylinder temp has decreased by about 50 degrees.

Your not going to 465 with the 440 sleeve and need to stroke the crank to get to those numbers.
LRD does some nice work but seems to be just as crazy with prices as the other rebuilders and not any faster for turn around either.
Sorry but all these guys just tick me off that not only do we have to pay crazy prices but then get to sit and wait too, its just not right.
