440ex bore kit?
#41
I persoanly like the 440 and i spent 690 for the 440 big bore kit installed (no porting) and she's a monster fo sure there are cheaper kits but don't be cheap and end up with trash

Powroll makes a 440 bore and stroke kit. It uses an 87mm piston (normally used for 416 kits) and the crank is modified for a longer stroke (I think by 4mm). Stroking will give more power than just boring, but I think the price difference is going to be about $700 unless you split the cases to remove/install the crank by yourself.

If every thing is right, including porting and other head work your looking at a 43rwhp bike, 5% of 43hp is 2.15hp (most head porting, stg 2 Hotcam, good complete exhaust, CDI box and 11:1 will only make 30-35hp, 5% of 30 hp is 1.5hp.
Moral of the story is, if your sleeve is still good, build a 416 or 425 as others have said.
Put your money into an R4 or Biggun complete exhaust.

I think you may also be advising to start with a 416-425 due to other mods needed and the added expense over all this of the 440. If this is right I normally agree but most people dont know what they want beyond faster than this or that guy etc. so it wount be the first time the credit card gets maxed out buying more motor than is needed.,
And I wish I could read those darn dyno results but its now your fault I am friggin blnd LOL, but the dark green runs on the first chart look pretty good to me. Which engine were they from?

Hey 440ex, sorry again for the dyno sheet quality, I'll have to remember to pick up a new scanner. The dark green run is a 416cc with Biggun exhaust, red is a 425cc with R4 exhaust. The light green is 440cc low comp. I put this one on because someone said a 440 didn't like to rev (over square engines will make peak power at a higher RPM). I was just showing the difference (it dosen't make as high of peak because of the low compression and not perfect head. Yellow run is the same as red but with a 41mm FCR carb.
