I'd love to see that happen also.. I ride 90% of the time in the dunes and I don't race other than the occasional drag and hill climb. I plan to buy the 450r this year or next. I'm sure it will be a great dune maching but I just think that the 650 might fit my style of riding better

by the way I heard from a buddy of mine that he saw stock xr650's beating crf450's (dirtbikes) in a 300ft drag. Just something to think about

Which month of dirtwheels?

I really hope they have a 650 by the end of next summer, I heard that they will be somtime next year. That would really bring Honda loyalists back giving us 2 new sport quads.

they should bore the crf250r motor up to 300cc and put it in the 300ex, add some new suspension also.

That would rule-- if Honda made a 650 quad, liquid cooled I'd be the first in line. After reading the DirtWheels article, it seems to be a close thing. Personnaly, I don't think an XR engine would do because it is air cooled. the Rincon engine is a masterpeice. Mate it to a nice 5 speed manual tansmission w/reverse and, of course- a KICKSTART and a lower center of gravity than the Raptor- for good manners on the MX track and perfect quad would exist. . Open note to HONDA; build it and I will buy it...

The XR650 is liquid cooled.

I think the new xr650 is liquidcooled. Perhaps they did this to pretest it for a quad version. A Honda with a 650 engine, w/reverse, and handles like a 400 would be a top selling quad I bet.

Honda actually has two 650 engines. The one in the XR650 is liquid cooled and it always has been. The engine in the dual-purpose XR650L is air cooled. The XR650 has a far better engine and i think that it would be the engine that honda uses if they make a 650 quad.

I didn't know they always had a liquid cooled xr650, I just seen that version a year ago. Never really kept up with the dirt bikes.
