Watch out or the BS to start if you have the hdc kit, my nephew's case cracked by the kick starter and the dealership was gonna honor the warranty but the District Honda rep said NO.Be careful what you modify my nephew say's this has happened to more than just him.

Seen two cracked cases on customers quads and one at the track.

Very bad considering that there aren't but a half dozen guys locally who own them. Honda denied warranty on each of the 3 because they are used on the track.

The dealer himself is usually the one that ends up making or breaking a warranty claim. Honda tech reps have the final say in the matter, but that decision is based on what info the dealer tells him.

Keep in mind that there is NO warranty on the TRX450R if the quad has ever seen a race track.....so if you have a problem with the quad, try to make it look as close to stock as possible when taking it in for warranty work. This applies to the 6 month warranty as well. So don't show up at your dealership with a cracked engine case and with full number plates [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I bought mine with the HRC kit installed (by the dealer), and got the extended warranty, no big deal.

 

I just got a thing in the mail regarding extending the warranty. Mine also had the HRC kit installed at the dealer and mentioned nothing of that.
Also are your hp numbers at the crank or the wheels? Mine made 41 at the wheels with just the HRC kit , and 44 with a pipe, 190 jet, and airbox lid removed.

 

48 is a little on the high side. Mine made 44 with pipe, and the airbox lid removed. But as we all know dynos are all a little different and by "clicking" around on the hp options on the dyno computer, mine would go from a low of 38 to a high of 52 "corrected" hp. All I know is that mine is pretty fast on the track.
