Raptor Vs 440 ex
If I raced mx and wanted to run a stock quad and not a hybrid I would get an ex no questions asked.....
though I absolutley crushed one on the hole shot at a mx race........but by the second turn he passed me.........
I think he was litterally 6-7 lengths behind me at the first turn........
distance from gate to first turn.........maybe 200 feet.........
a 440 ex has NO CHANCE in a straight line against a raptor.........
I have ridden one(not the one at the MX track)
but both of the guyz said that they had the higher compression piston.......I'm guessing 12.5:1 ( asked if it was 11.5:1 and he said that it was higher)
and one had a stage 2 hot cam......and the other had a mega cycle cam........
one was running 50/50 ultimate 4/ c12
the other was running straight c12
neither of them stood a chance.........

yo im sick of this question of how fast a 440 is. unless you work the engine besides boaring it out it nothin. my 400 has a 11.1 compression piston, ported and a pipe and i beat raptors all the time and i dont want to hear people saying i dont because i have videos. listen you just have a good mechanic and you know how to ride you will spank rators. 440 means nothing because i beat them all the time. because the 440 might just be boared and nothing else and its barely faster than stock. now a 440 with cam,pipe,ported,carb ect then its goin to make that raptor look real dumb. and top speed a raptor does about 70-72 and my 400 with that work breaks 75 because i have taken it to englishtown raceway and ran the drag strip with only those mods.

I agree with misfit, just being bored out doesn't make much difference. All the aftermarket parts work together with the bore. For those who say a 440ex can not beat a raptor in a 300ft drag are not racing 440's, I beat a lot of lightly modded raptors all the time with mine and I just have what is listed below on my 400.

Ok, asking on here isn't that good of a response... you will have basiclly experince it yourself, since all the biased opinions(of course its rare to see someone admit there quad gets beat by a smaller bore quad, or a less modded quad). But here is my experince(and is not biased). I have beat z400's with my raptor, and i have raced 1 440ex and took it... this is racing on a open road(im guessing we road for like a straight mile). Im not quite sure of how well that 440ex was built. All i can say is it had a cam, 12?:1 piston, and a few other things.

a stock 400ex have no chance with a raptor u cant beat a raptor with a stock 400. If you won maybe the driver of the raptor was 6-7 years old and he doesn't know how to drive

welp my 440 will flat out stomp rappys!!cams,pipe,jets,head work,440 kit,11:1 comp piston,race gas,next thing is a stroker crank from Sparks!!in 300ft i have outran a craycraft 686 at little sahara!!woopty doo!!but in long distance he would of killed me b/c of my gearing i am geared for the holeshot b/c all i race is 300ft...mine will run about 78 top speed...but my ds will run closer to 90 no joke...my 440 will give my stage 3 ds a run for its money until top end...but i am selling my ds and getting a new YFZ450..but when it comes down to it a 440 is faster than a rappy in a short length drag race...i also ride motocross and outta the whole a rappy cant compete but on the straight aways if i get just a slight bit outta rythem they will pass me...but if i got it going good then they will be way behind me...but i have yet to of been beat by another 400 thats not 440 or higher bore...i have outran a 465 but it wasnt a stroker...but i have also had a 426 stroker kill me soo...

He must really suck at shifting. since this is my first four wheeler. and i baught it in April 2003. And he has rode dirt bikes and quads since he was like nine. Now he's 17. So maybe im just a way better shifter.

Well you also have to consider...........oh wait........I just realized I'm on the Honda forum.
This is where I come if I want to hear endless **** about what an increadible piece of cr@p the Raptor is and how Godly Honda is. Bla Bla Bla. We should all try and convince Yamaha and the rest of the makers to sell out and stop making such inferior products because everyone knows Honda is the ONLY one to own right? GEEEEEEZZZZZZZ!!!
