Default When to switch to Synthetic Oil

How much time or miles do you need to put on a bike before you switch over to synthetic oil? What is a good break-in time? Thanks

hey duramax, deuce rooster is right. You just need enough hours on the motor 2 let the rings set properly. Try it in your truck you will be amazed at the difference in mileage. Amsoil, or royal purple . I have had luck with both.

AMSOIL makes a specific 4 stroke synthetic oil that works with a clutch setup (doesn't have any friction type modifiers added).

Unless it is a specific 4 stroke oil desigened for common lube of tranny/clutch and motor, do not use it. It will cause the clutch to slip if not specifically designed for this application.
