I just got my 250r and want the best ratio on front and back sprockets? To be kickin ***

If you have what the average 250r has (pipe, filter, jetting) then go qith 14/40. A little bit taller than stock and the sprokets wont wear out as fast because they are bigger.

 

i would gear a little higher and buy from sidewinder.They are pricey but well worth it.I have had mine for like a year and they show like no wear.get their chain too.

 

I just started rebuilding. Here is how it will end up.

Bored 0.30 over
wiesco prolite
0.20 decked head/ported
cylinder ported & polished
esr trx 5 or 6 pipe
esr/cr ignition
v-force reeds / spacer
bigger carb / K&N
barnett clutch basket

I think thats about it.

still 14/40?

 

well all depends on what kind of riding your going to be doing. If its mostly MX and play riding then go with 14/36 or 14/38 but if its for pit riding drag racing top speed ect ect go with 15/40 or 15/38.

 

I am running 15/38. It is ok, but I think if I went with 14/38 it might be a little better. I drag, trail ride, beach and dune ride.
