Here is what my dealer here in Tucson, AZ sent me by email:

"WE ARE GETTING ONE IN DEC THAT IS ALREADY SOLD I HAVE SOME COMING IN JAN OR FEB I HAVE 4 TO 5 COMING THREE ALREADY HAVE MONEY ON THEM THEY SELL FOR $6499.00 +T+L WHICH COMES TO $7132.07 O.T.D I WILL NEED 10% DOWN TO HOLD ONE FOR YOU THAT WOULD BE $700.00 NONREFUNDABLE NON CANCELLABLE"

I didn't even tell them yet that I want two of them. Looks like I am going up north to Phoenix area if they can't work me a deal.

Taz,

The 5 or so dealer groups here in Honda are selling the 450R's for AT LEAST MSRP. In addition to that our taxes are higher and as you can imagine, The lines are long with paid deposits which are also non-refundable.

Look for mine in Cycle Trader after the 1st of the year. I have the first one from Canyon Honda.

I know where you can be 1sy on the list, for a $500 depsoit, and you get it for 6499+tax, no set up or freight. PM if interested, I have my name on the list at two places, both first, I have decided to buy only one.

These dealers gotta come down. I have a feeling once these lists are taken care of, prices will be reasonable. If I can't work a deal in March, I will try for a couple more months then just dish out the money.

I have been patient this far what's a couple months. Was going to buy a 400ex in August, but gotta have the best.

I'd better get down to business and start looking around for a dealer to lign me up with a 450R. I'm in Canada so maybe not so many people will be interest and I can reserve one. One can only wish!

$6199.00 + tax for the first and second 450R that my dealer is getting. I am getting the first one and a friend of mine is getting the second one.
I would never buy from a dealer that wanted list price or more for anything , That is just a rip off.

My bro just told me that our local dealer is supposed to be getting one some time next week. A guy already has it bought, but they won't let him have it for a couple weeks. Probably just so people can come in and see it. I guess.

I get a kick out of forum members who claim to be getting 450R's for $6k or less. I call BS on 90% of it. It's like some badge of honor that they are getting it for less. I called all over the U.S. trying to acquire 450R's on the first round of shipping for cheap and was unsuccessful. ANY DEALER WHO SELLS THEM FOR UNDER MSRP IS LOSING MONEY bootom line. They are not "ripping off" consumers by asking MSRP. If the demand is there then that is the appropriate price. If you live in the southwest you are LUCKY to get one at MSRP.

I agree. It's no mystery that every single 450R they make is going to sell for at least the 1st year. They wont be sitting on showroom floors for long/if at all during the 1st year. Theres no way any intelligent dealer would sell one for less than MSRP.
