It's fun but I like summer riding MUCH better. On top on that, when there is snow here, it's -25. Last tuesday, it was about -15 and the skin peeled on my eyes's corner

I've been driving my trx250 (utility) in the snow. It does fairly well in it too. I think my new back tire really gives me a boost in traction in the snow. I found a snow drift going uphill and I hit it and I dind't get very far

Anyways, for some reason I have trouble topping out in 4th gear and 5th gear barely pulls, even on plowed ground. I would think, even in the plowed ground, where there is less traction because it's snow/ice that the wheels would spin a bit quicker, but it barely pulls in 4th and 5th. 1st,2nd and 3rd all have excellent power, but 4th and 5th don't I think that because of the coldness (-10 Celcius around that), it's having trouble because my oil has probably gotten thick.

So anyways, I'm also driving my Mach 1 around and man that thing is sooo fast. My friend might bring his 400ex over today and I'm gonna smoke him with it.

Well my friend brought his 400ex over today. Man that thing is pretty fun in snow, but I think I like it more in summer (because I'm inexperienced, and note that I think I enjoy my fourwheeler in the winter more than in the summer so I guess it's because I just don't drive the 400ex enough). I barely drove my fourwheeler today, so instead I went up to my Mach 1 (583) and pulled the cord and it started up. If I'm half throttle on the Mach 1, I'm right beside the 400ex. Oh man I can smoke a 400ex so badly on my Mach 1. It's so amazing. I've driven my Mach 1 full throttle today and I let off quickly because it's still accelerating but there's no room to keep on going. I wanted to videotape a race with the Mach 1 and the 400ex but my brothers wanted to stay inside

Right now htough, my plugs are fouled up on the Mach 1 because we went and got a christmas tree and pulled it behind the MAch 1 and I drove it 1/4 throttle for a while. I have to drive at least half throttle every now and then to "clean out" the engine. Anyways...need new plugs I can't wait to have a 4 stroke sled.

Hey, im about to buy a 300ex in the next couple of weeks. How is it power wise, on and off the snow? Like does it get stuck alot? I usualy ride a yz125, will the 300ex compete with its speed and power??

Well the 300EX with good tires does excellent in the snow and is tons of fun. Compared to a YZ125 though it will feel slow. However if you are new to quads it will be fast enough. Once you master it then move on
