250ex vs bayou 220
pfendler03- i wanted to let you know that in your sig. it says that one of your future mods is going to be a hmf slip on exhaust, but hmf doesnt make those.
I own a 250ex and i raced a 330 trailboss both were completely stock and i won by a longshot. Also, somebody said that you might as well race a recon against the bayou and the outcome would be the same. i hate to tell you that the recon weighs 42 lbs more and the compression is different so the 250 has 10% more power. I now have a kn filter and i was going 50 uphill, but i ran out of room because the road turned sharp so.. im guessing i can easily hit 55 on a flat straight away. Right now im waiting for a full hmf system and a dynojet kit. im guessing maybe ill be able to hit 55-60?

Ok, had to clean this thread up BEFORE I had my first cup of coffee this morning.
Enough of the personal attacks and language. Go back and read the forum rules you agreed to when you signed up here. Next time, I'll hit the easy button, and some people may be finding themselves unable to participate.

I know this is an Very Very Old topic, But, I cant help it, I have raced a ton of quads with my little 220 since I got it. This is what I have beat.
LT230E
LT230S
Ozark 250
Phoenix 200
Sportsman 300, 325 & 335, My 360 will beat these
Honda Recon 250, Pooch!
Honda 250EX, 100 yd run, I have trail rode with him, pretty sure his has a higher top speed, but its VERY slow getting there.
Kawasaki P360 4x4 (wife driving) OMG it is slow 22hp @ the crank!
Yamaha big bear 250, he was really mad I beat him bad.
Breeze 125 LOL, I could have beat her with the choke on!
I have also beat lots of other smaller quads, but thats not much to brag about!
What I have lost to but remained in close second until I hit max RPM.
300 Bayou, why did they put huge stock rear tires on it? that killed his acceleration.
500 Sportsman, Had him out the hole!
Grizz 350 2WD
KQ400 Auto
Magnum 425 2WD
Traxter
I have been smoked by many as well,
KFX 400, 700
Banshee, Blaster
Scrambler, Outlaw, Pred.
Twin Peaks 700
400EX
Tecate 4
Mojave
DS650
LT250R
LT500R, yes I raced him But I got to ride his 500 later, I gotta get me one of these It had wheelie bar for good reason.
Anyhow I am sure the 250EX and The new 250X will win on top end but 0-40 MPH the EX is a slug, and the RECON is so slow that I could beat that pulling my 10 cu ft utility trailer!

I will take on a 230 anytime you wish with the Bayou pal. Bring it on. I had a 1988 LT230.
Biggest piece of junk I ever owned. Wasn't much faster than the 125 my daughter had at that
time. Put out about 10 hp I would guess.

yeah i know, this is an OLD post, but i found it thru a google search and just had to reply to this guy.
bayou's are the SLOWEST quads ive ever ridden, and i can GUARANTEE you that my 230 will take ANY bayou out there, NO SWEAT.
youre proud of 1st and 2nd gear wheelies?
i can pick up the front end of my 230 in up to 3rd with a regular body position and no "bouncing" the front end (if i do that im good till 4th)
and its been EXTREMLEY RELIABLE. starts 2nd kick, EVERY TIME, no matter the temperature. the ONLY problem i've had was a blown-out lower ball joint from smacking a rock at around 40.
its taken mild mojaves, 300ex's, 250ex's, 250x's, bayous, and warriors /raptor 350's.
and 10hp is far off. crank output from the factory is about 19. my bike is now around 26-28 with the mods i have.
and oh, my favorite point about those cheep *** bayou's. the front end!!! wtf kind of mickey mouse retard-cambered **** is that??? it makes me lmao everytime i get near one.
so even better, how about you go race a 230 on a non-straight drag, motocross or flat track. man i hope you got a rollcage!
oh and lastly, cable brakes??? nuff said you get my point. the 230's had full hydraulic disks all around since 1985.
so how bout them apples, chief?
