Default ITS FINALLY DONE!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!

i just got my 440ex all assembled and drove it for the fist time in almost 2 months, i took it from a bone stock yellow 400~in very bad shape - to a screaming silver 440, its like a night and day difference, starts right up even though i no longer have the decompression mechainism, has a little less bottom end but waaaaay more mid and top end and now i actually have all 5 gears! still trying to get used to having second gear (2nd was blown when i got it), it pulls hard through all the gears and im really pleased with the power increase. still havent tested it on the track or trail, just a big open field for about a half hour so i didnt get a real good feel for it, the one thing i really noticed was the loss of bottom end power, will some of it be regained when its all broken in? what could i do to increase bottom end power, other than a pipe?

-i will have pictures of the finished product tomorrow

Good stuff man, I'm stoked for you. After I broke mine in I did notice that it ran with more power. When I went through the break in process I punched in briefly once or twice and at first was a little dissapointed on the bottom end. 2 years later I'm very happy with it and feel it did get better on the bottom. Make sure that you break it in well so every sets correctly, and have fun! Can't wait to see some new pics that silver looks very nice

CONGRATS BRO!! great to hear that you got you a 440 kit...i think your main loss in bottom is from your hotcam stage 2 b/c it is more of a mid/top end cam i have the stage 1 and all i can do is keep the front end down even in 4th and 5th...i wanna see some pics!!!!!

thanks for all the replies, i drove it for about 3 hours yesterday on some ice covered trails IT WAS A BLAST!! i barely even notice the loss of bottom end power seeing as how 90% of the time im in the mid/top end, i noticed i got some more bottom end back but its still not as good as stock but te mid/top end power increase is incredible!! i'll try to get some more pictures on here tonight, just its a pin in the a$$ resizing them and everything.

exactly what Barlet said...i mean you could atleast gut the stock one out and put an end cap on it if worse comes to worse...but i say put a Pro Circuit T-4 on it w/the Quiet Core insert in it...or the Yoshi w/the same....i had a Yoshi on my ds w/out the quiet core insert and it wasnt very loud at all...that was until i did some stuff to my motor LOL...

i bet the loss of lowend is from the stage 2. you could either change your gearing or run the stage 1. yes, a pipe would help. i think the hmf's are one of the best quality pipes and you can get a quite core.
