Default is the 400ex a good quad for mods

i was wondering because after i get my 450r when ever i get it im gonna get a 400ex just to have one and was wondering if they do good modded

they are good bikes for modding. I was going to say that no matter what you do to it (within reason) it will never be a 450r or yfz but it sounds like you're getting an R anyway. The 400ex responds well to mods. I could feel a signifigant difference with just a filter and slip on pipe. That's with an FMF which isn't by any means the best pipe out there for it. after the 440 kit and cam this thing flies. Sure I still get beat by YFZ's and Banshees but let's face it, those are fast bikes. Good luck

I don't get beat by yfz's and banshees unless the banshee is ported with alot of other mods and I've got a 440ex.

Yeah I was gonna say, my friend has a performance cam on his and I've watched him smoke countless shees. Not trying to stir up any bad blood with Yamaha loyalists, but just to make a point.

ya I did. At first I didn't and it wouldn't start up right away. Now that it has been rejetted it runs great, with no flat spots in the power band
