Tranny seems to be slipping???Help!!! Recon ES
#1
I rode my new ES today and the tranny acted like it was slipping.
I did ride it through water and mud.Is this common? Is there something I should check or adjust??
Can water get in somewhere and maybe I need to drain it?
Thanks

well how was it acting that you think that it was slipping
The clutch is internal so it runs in oil so check your oil if it is white or grey you need to change it
If you put systhic oil in the motor that will make your clutch slip too
remeber that on the Recon there is no oil filter so you should change the oil on it ever about 40-50 hours

im not positive but my clutch was slipping and i just got a manual and adjusted my clutch and mine is better than ever, im not sure on where you find your clutch but i would suggest looking in you manual or buying a service manual

The clutch adjuster on the recon is on the front cover of the engine. Mud and water shouldn't bother it. Like said don't run sysnthetic oil or oil tat are made to reduce friction, your clutch requires fricton to work. Get a oil that is made for wet clutches. The clutch in my recon is pretty well shot but thats from 2 years of hard abuse.

Thank you Redrecon,
As I wrote,it is a NEW ATV.I have not run two tanks of fuel through it.
When I give it the gas,it revs up,but does not go like it normally would.
Since it is new,I will take it to the dealer and have them adjust it.
Thanks again,
