That sounds about right the Rancher does 50mph and they say it's faster than a Foreman.

I can't comment on the the 450 but Tim1, is correct the top speed of the Rancher is 50-51mph.

Hi there, I have a 450ES and mine will only do about 47MPH with me tucked in under the handle bars. That is fast enough especially when you start to hit some bumps and ruts. I have about 150 miles on mine.

I have a '00 Foreman ES and it will show me 50 anytime ..... 51 or 52 if the conditions are right and I hold it long enough. I am 6' 1" and I weigh 185. And yes I am tucked when I try this.

I have a '00 Foreman ES and I have hit 54 mph on darn flat ground, I don't know for sure if it was 100% percent level but it was close. And I have hit 52 mph multiple times on ground I know is flat, and level. I'm 5'11 and 155 lbs. I've heard top speeds for ES's go anywhere from 47-54. Also, I've never heard that the Ranchers are actually faster, I know that the Rancher and Foreman go pretty much the same speed on average. Not every quad has the same power or top end as the next though. So I can't deny that there are Ranchers that will go faster than some Foremans, and some Foremans that will go faster than some Ranchers, and some that go the same speed.

Chris,
'00 Yellow Foreman ES

I have both and on top end, on flat ground, the Rancher is usually a tad faster. Going through the gears is a different story. The Foreman will spank the Rancher every time (much to my son's chagrin ... and he is looking over my shoulder as I type this).

If you want to try something interesting with your Foreman .... go for top speed with regular gas and then try the same thing with a tank full of supreme. It makes 1 - 2 kph difference on my bike.
