Yes that is correct. 3.7 gal main + 1.0 gal reserve for a total of 4.7 gal. Presonaly I never run more than 80 miles without extra gas. It worked out well for my 450ES and it looks like it will work for the Rubicon.

Why do people think the tank is small on the Rubicon? 4.7 gallons does not sound bad to me.

From Honda's Rubicon page:

"3.7 gallons, including 1.0-gallon reserve"

That means 2.7 gallons BEFORE reserve, for 3.7 total, NOT 4.7 total. That makes for 74 mile range at 20mpg. If you dare to run it bone dry.

As a Rancher comparison: 3.4 gallons total x 25mpg = range of about 85.

That was my mistake. Its a 3.7 gal main tank with an additional 1.0 gal reserve for a total of 4.7 gal.

TwoWives, you're right. After my last reply I went out and got the owners manual. It says "At full the fuel tank capacity inculding reserve is: 3.70 US gal. ..." I apologise If my other remarks/reply's mislead anybody. I guess I should have read the manual before replying. A range of aprox 70 miles before empty is not that great, but it's to late now.

If your only getting 10 miles to the gallon of gas with your rubicon you need to take it in and have it looked at thats terrible. I am getting around 22 with mine it has 54 miles on it now i hope it will increase )
