Rule #1- NEVER buy used. If they ride anything like most people do. It's going to be dead by the time you touch it. Just buy new. Unless you know the person personally and know they don't beat the **** out of their quad.

There's a lot of people that don't have the money for it. I bought mine used and found out later on that it had been flipped, but it runs like new still. I don't see anything wrong with buying used. You can get a 400ex slightly used for the price of a new 250ex.

Many people seem to think that everyone is made of money. I am not made of money at all. If I were, then I would not be asking for advice on anything. I would buy whatever quad I felt like buying and if I dind't like it, then I'd probably sell it and buy another and not care about money at all. But I'm a 17 year old who wants to have fun on a quad but has to pay for education and get a car soon and hoping that my parents will help me buy a quad.

What would that FMF pipe do to the 400ex? Will it increase low end or will it lose low end?

Do you think I should consider getting that bike for $4500 Canadian (1999 400ex). It's got the DB dumper, barnett clutch kit (what is that?), FMF Pipe and I think something else. Also take note that a brand new 400ex in Canada costs about $8500

if ti is 4500 i would really considerate. A barnett clutch a lighter weight clutch that grabs hard and gioves better shifts and wont miss a gear near a easy as a stock clutch.Maybe ask to test ride it first.but i dont know what 4500 canadian is in US but should be good buy

I just sold a mint 2001 426 ex, with a fresh motor, FMF pipe, bars, Perfect Condition, for $3500 USD. I have pics of it iin my gallery. I took some stuff off it, but it was still nice.
That should help give you an idea of a true street value.

What is the conversion rate to the American dollar? I'm thinking that is in the $2500-2300 range American. That isn't to bad a price in my mind. Most go around the $3000-3500 here in Oregon. You can find them cheaper though. Take your time & find the right one. This one might be it but remember there is always a better deal out there! Good luck

Well our dollar just hit a ten year high or something today closing at 76.5 cents I think. I'll go check a site out to confirm this...
Anyways, I hope I can get it down to $3900 Canadian.
I just converted
4,500.00 CAD
Canada Dollars =
3,477.74 USD
United States Dollars
1 CAD = 0.772832 USD 1 USD = 1.29394 CAD
Take note that they don't use the conversion when making the Canadian price. For instance, PS2 games (greatest hits) are 19.99 USD but 29.99 CAD. IF you use the converter, you do not get these ammounts.
