400ex/250r axle
#13
I can help in this dept.
I don't know too much about the 400ex axle other than that it should be about the same overall width as the 250r.
But,
I know that a 250r axle will not fit in the 300ex swingarm. The bearing journals on the 250r are wider than the 250x, 300ex (the rear of the swingarm is wider). The only way you can get a 250r axle in a 300ex is to install a 250r swingarm on your 300ex.
Although,
You can make a 350x axle work in your swingarm. You would just need to have the 300ex sprocket carrier pressed off of the axle and pressed on the 350x alxe. Advantages in this swap would be a 25 spline axle compared to the 24 found in the 250x, 300ex. Also the axle is adjustable from the factory and it is wider than the 250x, 300ex axle.
