I was thinking about getting a 400ex. Whats the top speed and what mods would i get to make it even better?

 

around 68 mph, a slip on exhaust and air filter are always a good bang for the buck

 

My buddy ran his through a radar the same night I ran my Raptor, he went through twice....69mph both times.


Full pipe, air filter, and jetted up with no air box lid would help.

But don't forget the other 400's, the Z400 from suzuki, kfx400 from kawasaki, and the dvx 400 from artic cat.

 

what was your speed on the raptor, whats in an alba stage 3 kit

 

I paced mine next to my buddy's truck awhile back and it was 68-70 his speedo was off alittle but i think that is close ..

 

i would put a pipe and a K&N filter on it. and if your going to put a pipe on you might as well do the full system. ohh you might want to put a diffirent rev limmitter on it to.

I am thinking about getting a 400ex....

wow 70 aint bad if u ask me....my problem was trying to chose from a utility or a sport...but i still have not decided...But the 400ex is very nice and the speed is GREAT from what I see.

Note: I am getting the aftermarket parts, but the quad come first..

 

Some say 60-65 mph but I got 70 mph out of mine and its completely stock. I too went from a utility to a sport and at first it took some getting use to but the more time I get on this thing the more I LOVE it! If you want fun.......this is it! Some of the "experts" say they're slow [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img].........I'm still trying to figure that one out cause it WILL run with a Z.......at least the 04s will.....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

04's had a imporvment over the rest of the years is why. 04's had a bigger carb not sure what size compared to the 03's(ect).
