ok I put some on my k&n and washing it and soaking it an insane ammount of times to clean it perfectly...and about 4 days ago I re-oiled it. my question is...I have it set on a cooler in my room and every morning I wake up and there is just the slightest bit of residue on the bottom..is this normal? what would happen if a little bit of this got into my engine or something?

 

I oil my K&N's heavily. All you have between all that dirt and a potential disaster is a thin piece of cotton, and it isn't the cotton that traps the dirt, it is the oil. Better safe than sorry. My motors last forever!

I oil my K&Ns very well, then set them on a box on the dining room table, under a ceiling fan set at low speed for a day or two.

K&N oil only. It's designed for gauze filters, not foam.

Is it bad to use PJ 1 filter oil on my K&N?

 

You also don't want to over oil your filter...that could actually rob you of some power....
