Default 1988 250r question..........

There's race ready R's with after market frames that aren't selling for the asking prices of $6,500 to $7,500. Some of them have been listed over and over in all the various classified ads. A couple are now listed as being parted out. Check them out in the ads on ATV Scene, EX Riders, R Riders, and eBay.

Since the new 450's have been coming out it seems there are many for sale now and prices are going down. I've seen 4 in the paper just last month 3000-3200 and none have sold. Depending on the condition of the plastic and everything I think the average non race prepped 250 is only worth 2200-2500 in Michigan.

Default 1988 250r question..........

here in PA where i live people want 5,000-6,000 dollars for a complete stock R. it seems to me that ones that are modded sell for less price because people want clean bone stock ones for a collector's item that will some day probably be selling for like 12,000 dollars or more.

hey dragracer789, is it true that there really is a 510 big bore out there????who makes it????if you could provide me with the site or whatever i would like to see it..... i might get me one of those so i can kick the s$*@ outta YFZ's. lol that would be awesome though and so scary fast.

For 5-6g's I would do some searching.

Check out this site for the 510 cylinder.

^^^.... ya if you get one of those kits (acually 370 and bigger) you beter go through your complete engine including clutch, gears, crank, rod, flywheel/counterbalancer. If you dont theres a good chance that your bike will break because of the amount of torque.

Default 1988 250r question..........

you wont need a 510 to beat a yfz. Hell you wont even need a 265 to beat one!

I was offered 9500 for my gas 370 in a LS frame last weekend.

Stock R's are worth more then raced R's. Why you ask? Because people want bone stock, unabused 250r's. Being that the last year they were made was 89 it makes them extremely rare to find in this state. That is why they sell for so much money. They are collectors items. And yes....there are many 250r collectors out there.

Nobody in their right mind is going to sell a bone stock, unabused 250r that they dont ride to buy a yfz. It just doesnt happen very often, and certainly not enough to drive the price down on 250r's in stock/mint condition
