I hesitate to put his phone number on the forum - cuz I want him to have enough time to work on my quads! If you up there in the Portland area, the best mechanic up there is Chad at Holehot Racing in Vancouver Wasthington. Chuck is in Jefferson Oregon just outside of Albany. If you talk to Chad, tell him Marky Nark sent you.

KC,

I talked to your dad tonight - Looks like Chuck's stock piston and sleeve are in better shape than mine. If you still need anything let me know.

KC,

Call up Chuck tomorrow. Tell him I sent you. Tell him I said you can have free access to any spare parts that are left over from my build. If he recommends any new parts, tell him I will be happy to furnish them for my cost. If you're gonna be in school, have your dad call him. Ok?

Wow that sounds like a filtration problem for sure.

Was there any traces of the actual sand anyware?

Just curious but what comes in that $625.00 kit? Sounds a little expensive unless theres something extra in it etc.

i have a 440ex and its sucks i have had so many problems with it the bolts in the motor are not made for all that compresion you start ripping out threads. i blow the whole top of my motor off not cool. rethreading every whole in the head sucks it not worth the time or the money. i wish someone would have told me it was going to be this much trouble. iam putting it back to stock bore and selling it so good luck

KC and his dad came over last night and picked up my old piston and sleeve. Let me know if it works out.

you cant over torque when i have a torque wrench and use a 1/4 drive just give it a year and it will start to fall apart every machinic i have talked to said you need over sized studs or its going to fall apart the block is not strong enough to hold in the studs they slowly pull out till one day your head blows off and i was only running 11 to 1 compresion
