KC,
You can get a 440 Big Bore Kit in 10:1 compression for $260. It includes the JE piston kit, big bore sleave and headgasket. Get yourself a mild cam like the Web 450/451 Grind and add another $154 bucks. Parts would be $414 total and get chuck to bore it out and you'd be pretty close to your total.

KC,
They are better for both. I think Chuck might disagree. However, with the 440 bore, eventually you WILL run race gas, and you can upgrade easily to the 12:1. If you rode mine, you would be shocked!

On the rod question check this out, Honda rod and crank. #1 is the rod. It connects the piston to the crank.

Get the JE 416 you can use the same block a few times. Cause if you ride hard like you are supposed too it will knock again eventually. As for the 440 a well built 416 (THE RIGHT WAY) piston, valves, ect. will out perform a 200.00 or 400.00 dollar 440 kit any day but like I said a 416 is the way to go. hope that helps.
