Problem: Douglas Wheels On Honda Rancher
#1
I bought some new Wheels and Tires from Rocky Mountain ATV, and I have run into a problem trying to mount the front ones on my 03' Rancher ES.
The Wheels are solid aluminum, not billet style, and they don't sit flush on the front hubs due to the two little bolt heads and the brake plug that stick out a bit.
On the stock rims, the offending bolts and plug poke out through holes in the rim, but being that the Douglas Wheels are solid, they can't sit flush on the hub with those things in the way.
Anyone else run into this problem? Should I have ordered spacers too, or is it just the wrong wheel?

I'd drill out a cavity for them. Put some paint on the bolt heads then start to bolt the wheel on to mark where they hit. Drill a hole partway into the rim with a bit large enough to clear these bolts.

Wrong wheels. Get the ITP they will fit. Rocky Mountain knows that the douglas ones do not fit right and they do not care, they made the sale. They figure that most people will grind, drill or just leave the bolts out to make them fit. For what it will cost you to send them back and then to ship out the new ones to you, you will not send them back you will just eat the lost. That is what Rocky Mountain counts on. You can call them but lots of luck geting them to do any thing.
