300ex Lonestar Axle Carrier???
#1
My 94' 300ex's rear barings always get shot within about 4-5 weeks, so its about 50$ a shot. I am now going to buy an Lonestar Super Twin Axle Carrier, and i would like to know if this would be worth the purchase of 210.00$. I have spent about 150.00 on just barings in the last year and a half. Thanks, any information would be appreciated

do you ride in a lot of water? I do. When you replace the bearings pack them as full as you can. you should repack them twice a year if you ride in a ton of water. I had to replace my whole carrier recently. not very fun. I also had to replace my axle because I bent it somehow.

Are you sure you aren't overtightening the axle nut?? I've found that it helps to drill and tap the stock carrier for a grease zerk and fill it with grease after the axle is slid through it. This seems to help alot even though they have sealed bearings, maybe it helps keep the moisture out? When you get everything together, your axle nut(or whatever its called on the brake caliper side) should be just a bit tighter than finger tight-then crank the lock nut tight as a SOB.
