Default new grab bar

due to my old grab bar getting worn down by the fella i got my 400ex from, i need a new grab bar

now as far as i can tell the grab bar on the 400ex is welded into the frame(part of the frame) how would i replace the grab bar with it part of the frame? weld a new one on, or are there designated areas to bolt on a new bar? thx

Welded on? Are you sure? The grab bar should just be bolted on...

Nope...They are part of the subframe, so I guess you could say they are welded on. I had a strap wrapped around mine and it came loose and ripped off the back off the grab bar (sub frame). So I made some sleeves and welded it back on and it is stronger than it was before. As far as replacing in with a after market grab bar, they probably bolt to the old grab bar.

You can always cut the end of the subfram/grab bar off, and make some mounts on the sub frame and get a 250r style bar, I am pretty sure that they fit!
