What kind of oil to use?
#1
i just bought a 2002 honda foreman es 450 4x4. I was wondering what kind of oil should i use, like what weight and brand? I live in Dallas texas so its not that cold here. Also what kind of differential lube should i use? Are these the only fluids you have to mess with? I don't have a owners manuel so thats why i'm asking this. Thanks in Advance.

I personally like Valvoline's ATV oil. It has the SF/SG rating that Honda recommends and is also designed and blended for the wet clutches used in ATV's. I use the 10w40 all year. $2.00 a qt.
I use Valvoline SynPower 75-90 full synthetic gear oil in both differentials.
I also use Zerex Extreme Life engine coolant mixed with distilled water for the cooling system.
I also use only Honda oil filters and change the rubber o-rings, gaskets and the aluminum drain plug gaskets every oil change and clean the air filter when it gets dirty.
