Do you need permission from your wife to buy toys?

no permission needed here, but i'm a computer tech ans shes a waitress, so i make like 4 times as much, but she doesnt have to ask permission to buy something that she wants, and i would expect that if things were the other way around i wouldnt have to ask either

the way my situation works is if i get a big toy, my wife gets to get something. But i seem to loose out in the deal because she has had something like 10 horses to my 5 atvs. The last atv being a rubicon. I do not get to buy my sport quad until we get a tractor for the farm and a horse trailer now. So I think i might have a bit of a wait. Don't ask me how it started that way, but it did

You guys saw my earlier post about my understanding wife. We talked about getting a truck, she thought the quad cab would be good for hauling around the kids and I just got tired of towing a trailer behind the car everytime I wanted to ride. (I've been a car guy all my life, so I adapted with a trailer when I started riding) She was like I'm ok with the truck, so today I called her from the dealer and told her I found the one I like. She was like "sounds good to me". Now, I am a truck owner for the first time, a 2004 Ram 1500 Quad Cab (Atlantic Blue Pearl if you are curious) and I can haul the wife, kids and the quad in one vehicle. See, it doesn't hurt to communicate.
Guess this means I won't be upgrading my 400ex to the 450R, but having the truck will make transporting the quad so much easier.

It has been a good thread....it is sure cool to get a small glimpse into each of your lives. I would say that those of you who don't ask and don't have to ask have it pretty good for sure. I love my wife very much, but she is very strict with the money...I suppose thats a good thing in our case cause we don't have a LOT of extra money to spend and if I had my way, I would be SPENDING SPENDING SPENDING.
My wife also wants to stop working completely and be a full time mom, and in order to do that, I don't get the toys like I would like. It's also kinda funny, ever notice how much more expensive guys toys are.....!!!!
Just a word of advice to you single guys out there, if you want a big toy, and you have the money...it's a lot easier to get them BEFORE you say I do than after.

It's funny how things all work out. I had this vision of the perfect wife before I got married. My wife is not much like my vision. She doesn't cook much even though she is a great cook. Doesn't like to watch sports. Really doesn't like many of my hobbies. We actually are pretty different people. The crazy thing is I had this vision of my perfect wife. I ended up with the perfect wife but not in the ways I figured. She compliments me pefectly. I'm a slob & scatter everything. She's not & she keeps our house spotless. She's also very understanding about me getting out to golf or ride with the boys. So every now & then I complain & crack a joke. Realistically I'd be lost without her. I guess I'm getting sappy now. Or maybe this is just to cancel out my other post on the off chance she see's it! Nah
