$5000, thats still not cheap. At least not too me. I know 400ex prices have dropped like crazy. They are almost what you cn buy a 300ex for, at least around here.

Yes it is faster, but its a POS compared to the Z. I love riding the Z, but after riding the Z I feel like a Gorilla on a tricycle when I get on the Blaster. And the Z is way more user friendly. By the way I am not a big guy at all I'm 5' 7 and about 165.

I wonder if your z could take my 250ex. Mine is stock except for the pipe. Oh and in case anyone that reads this doesn't know adding a K&N airfilter doesn't do squat you are just buying a name i know cause my dad works for the company.

It really comes down to personal preference. There are people out there who dont like to tinker on 2 strokes and dont like the maintence. Me on the otherhand, I love the power of a 2-stroke. But most of all, I really like working on my bike. I can take my motor apart and I actually know what everything is!! I dont know a lot of people that can say that about a 4 stroke top end.

Yes the price of 250r's is going down, but how significantly I am not sure. I did the 4 stroke thing and it just didnt cut it at all for me. But that was only in the dunes. Maybe they are better in other areas. Still even if the prices keep going down, I will not worry. It worries me to think that I might not be able to get anywhere near half of what I put into my bike, but who cares, I will always have them!! I think I will always have a 250r or a 2 stroke for a play bike.

i did the two stroke thing wit the bikes, but i reallly like the torqyness(if thats a word) of the 4strokes, but i ride in trails alot so that makes a difference, but if i could find a 250r for a decent price i'd prolly buy one, but otherwise i'm goin to a EX or another DS

i will never ride a 4 stroke unless it's a utility. i love my trx250r too much to ever get rid of it and as for the torque that 4 strokes supposedly have i have to object because it's not really more torque, it just that a 4 stroke has more low end, but with the mods like my 250r got the low end of a 4 stroke doesn't even compare. i've rode 4 strokes and i thought they sucked (just my opinion though). i also raced a bunch of 4 strokes with my 250r and none of them even come close to keeping up with me. the only 4 stroke i would ever consider riding would be a 400ex only because of the mods for it and it's an excellent woods bike. as far as the prices of the 250r's dropping i will agree, but i think in a couple of years after people get done with the whole 450 thing, the price of the 250r will come back up. i say this because i bought my 250r with everything on it, but the frame is still stock for 3,000 dollars and i don't have one single problem with it. i just hate how hard it is to start in colder weather even with the choke on. i'll will admit that it's nice to have an electric start and to be able to have a good bit of low end, but for now and always i will always ride 2 strokes.

WHAT ARE YOU PEAPLE SMOKING. A STOCK 250R GOES FOR OVER 3 GRAND AND THATS ALMOST 1 GRAND MORE THAN THE 250RS COST FROM A DEALER. TELL ME WHAT FOUR STROKE SELLS 4 MORE THAN PAID FOR STOCK AND BEAT UP 10 YEARS LATER, NONE THAT I CAN THINK OF. I HAVE 3 R'S AND HAVE NEVER BEEN BEAT BY ANY 4 SRTOKE AND MY 88 IS STOCK! THE NEW 4-STROKES ARE NICE AND HAVE ALOT OF LOW END POWER BUT DOSENT MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS ON THE TOP UNLESS SERIOUS MODDING IS DONE. I YOU CANT HANDLE STARTING YOUR BIKE OR REJETING EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE OR MIXING 5 GALLONS OF FUEL I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY BUT BUY ONE THEN. JUST DONT SELL YOUR 2-STROKE UNTILL YOUR SHURE YOU WANTED TO PAY MORE FOR A SLOWER BIKE TO SAVE A COULPLE MINUTS ON REJETING OR MIXING FUEL.PLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED, IT JUST MY OPINION.

i dont even think of racing a 4-stroke when i mod my trike. i only really worry about 2-trokes. 4-strokes are heavier im most cases and lack the powerband of a two stroke. i would love to have a 450r, but thats only because im pretty sure 2-strokes are being outlawed in most rec. places. i really want a 88 trx250r and go with a esr kit on it. my trike has a ct kit on it and ill test it against many bikes pres weekend at glamis. im sure ill be pretty quick, but i dont think there will be many 4-strokes with me.
