Default Suggestions needed on my picture page.

I am trying to scan pictures to put on my page. I scan the pic and I've been sizing them down to about 750 x 503 pixel. Then I rename the pic so it's the allowable jpeg or .jpg. I think the file size is too large. (I used the size 750 x 503 with my other pics and it worked fine from cd.) There is a slide bar that I set at the lowest position to compress the file. (The pics from cd were at this setting.) So whenever I try to enter a picture it doesn't go through. So then I noticed different settings for the amount of colors. I brought that down from millions of colors to 256 and it became blurry but went through. How do I enter a CLEAR picture that won't look like a dust speck on the page? (from a scan) Thanks for any suggestions.

If you have PAINT on your computer re-scan your pic, open the file, send it to paint, click on image on upper task bar, go down to stretch/skew, it will say 100% horizontal 100% vertical, just type in 90, 80, or whatever percentage works, click OK and it will shrink the pic. I apologize in advance if you've already tried this

I can resize the pictures with a program from my scanner. I think that the scanner is making the file too large from the start. Then when I try to reduce or resize the picture, it goes blurry where you can see the little blocks. I just bought a new scanner and it's not as simple as my old one. (The old one was so simple that it didn't work with my newer computer.) It was just so much easier taking them off a cd. There's probably something very simple that I'm over looking.

I reduced a picture to a 750 width x 503 height (within the 750 x 750 limit) The dpi is set at 96. It shows an uncompressed file size of 1,131.75kb. If I go within the limited size of 150k the picture goes fuzzy.

I did go to "paint" and that didn't work too well for me. I've also tried using Photo Plus. I should be able to do everything with the program from the scanner if I can figure it out.

Thanks for trying. Don't go out of your way, it'll work itself out sooner or later. Your pictures look good though.

The first pictures were off a disc. I'm having trouble with the pictures that I've scanned. My nephew lives in Ireland so I guess he's not going to be much help.
