Hello I'am in search of a longer shifter for my 03 400ex. I got some big feet and I paid 160.00 bucks for some alpinestar tech 4's and I can't wear them because my feet are to big to actually shift my 400 properly. I went to my dealer and they tried to adjust it but it was either to low or too high. I was contiplating weldig a piece of metal on put to risky is there a company out there that makes a longer shifter. Thanks

 

i just checked in my Dennis Kirk catalog and they have a pro design power shifter (just made stronger for power shifting, does not have to be used this way) for a 400EX and it says 5 3/4 inches then it has LONG right beside it. if this wouldn't be long enough i would check places like Nac's Racing or Duncan Racing to see if they make one longer than this or just see if you can get one for a 250R and maybe it will fit on it. btw the pro design shifter in Dennis Kirk is 75.99 w/o shipping costs.

 

Wow thats expensive for a shifter but it's 5 3/4'' long thats longer I guess. I really haven't measured the stock one yet. Is a stock 250r shifter longer. than a 400ex.

 

yep a 250R shifter is longer, it's 6 1/4", that is aftermarket, a stock one is prolly still longer than a stock 400EX, but a stock shifter is perfect for me on my 250R because i only wear a size 11 boot so it's good for me. yeah i know it's expensive but look in different catalogs on or sites and you might be able to find one cheaper. i heard Eddie Sanders Racing is going to start making 400EX parts and they are a reallly good company.

Wow it's 6 1/4'' long thats pretty long it might work I wear a size 14 man it's rough.
