They are both great quads what does it matter which one is faster? omg the yamaha goes 1 mph faster than the honda or the honda goes 1 mph faster than the yamaha big deal. I go to an mx track all the time some of my friends even have them in there backyards and I have never been topped out 5th gear full throttle so it doesn't matter which one is overall faster unless you are just dragracing which isn't to hard to just go in a straight line and shift. On a stock yfz and 450r in any kind of race its 90% the rider and 10% the quad on quads that are about even

 

i think if the both the yfz and trx were built for the track, the yfz suits the job much better. it is a more controlled jumper and the honda is too nose end light. that means with the yamaha you can blast out of a corner and have the throttle pinned while on the honda you are trying to keep the front end down as that next jump soon approaches. i would say that if it had a electric start or a reverse gear it would be more at home on the trails. i just read the shootout between the two in dirtwheels and it seemed like a pretty intelligent shootout. both in stock form and slightly modified the yfz had more horsepower. the more mods they put on the more the yfz's horsepower would jumper further away from the trx's. the yfz officially won that shootout. the gasgas was in there too but always seemed to be a step behind of the two other quads. Surely the new trx is a awesome quad and congrats to tim farr on riding it to the finsh in 1st in the baja 1000. exactly where the trx belongs (in my opinion), the trails. Both machines are unrivaled in its class and with any modification one can be made to beat the other. your not going to keep it stock right..?

who give a big flying f u c k which is faster top end. I dont know about you guys but i dont get a hard on going wide open in a drag race. I like to jump doubles and triples, climb steep hills, throw the quad side ways in loose dirt, ride wheelies through every gear, take the hot lady for a ride for her life. Why does everybody get a big kick out of which goes faster??????
