Rancher AT is the 450R of the Utility Quads
Just to put things in perspective, have you ever ridden a sport bike with aftermarket suspension? If so, you will realize just how LAME that Rancher suspension really is! We rode some whooped out trails last weekend, and everybody on a utility (including my Rancher and Recon) was really suffering! Even the rider on the Prarie 700 (the magazines perenial pick for best handling utility), commented how bad it was.
My point is, that even the top of the line utilities, can't compete with a bone stock sport bike. And, that Rancher would have to lose 200 lbs.!

Yes, the rancher is a great quad, but I would have to agree with yellow rinny in that the rincon is more "the 450r of utilities" See the rancher AT is a great quad, but I would rather pay a little more, and get a 650cc quad. And if you want to get a rancher AT....then look at the foreman 450, belive it or not, there cheaper!!! That's amazing. But the rancher is a great quad!

How can you compare a sport quad with $1000 in aftermarket suspension to a ute with stock gear?
They are totally two different critters. It's like comparing a Porsche with a Ford F150.
Ranchers and Foremen weren't made for riding whoops, just like the F150 wasn't made for doing
130mph on the Autobahn. But try plowing snow with that sport, or towing your trailer with a Porsche.
Come on now. Shall we compare apples with oranges?

Yes the 450 was cheaper - however it wouldn't fit in the back of my Toyota tacoma - so then I would have to get a trailer and then license the trailer - and well it just seemed less hassle and still cheaper to get the Rancher AT. For a trapline/hunting quad - it is plenty and for what snow we get around here - if I got a snow blade for it - it would easily push it out the drive way. I really like this ATV.

He was trying to decide between a rincon and a 400ex a year ago, and decided to go with a 400ex, so that is could fit in his truck. He was buying one for his bro and him, and didide to get a 400ex so he could race it and go trail ridding. He just was thinking a rincon because it was new. But I am not saying that you need a 400ex now, I am just saying that I know how you fell. I would rather have a quad that fit in the trck also, and not have to have a trailer.

I am not a quad racer, I am just thinking more people who like utility Quads would do themselves a service and buy the Rancher AT.
I think many utility quad owners would be very excited to own the Rancher AT as the Racers, and trail riders are the 450R.
