Just got my 300EX and i'm having trouble
#1
Well, i got it home, it started right up. Let it warm up and i decided to go for a ride, Well, it runs great 1/4 1/2 but as soon as i hit the 3/4 full mark it starts cutting out, like it's drowning on gas.
I had to adjust the low idle, is there another screw to adjust the higher RPM level? Or do i need a smaller main jet?
I'm not very good with carbs...it's not my thing. Or could my plug just need replaced?
Any help will be greatly apperciated

It just has a curtis sparks racing pipe.It has a K&N filter...well i think it's a K&N.
I took off the air box lid, it did the same thing. I'm thinking i'm running rich. I'm going to pick up a new plug tonight, or tomorrow, and try that out.
Maybe i should just call LRD and order a whole jet kit for it..
Any other thoughts?
Also where can i get good aftermarket tie rod ends. I would like a webpage.
Thanks

I think i am hitting the rev limit..But then what is it set at?
Because i'm used to reving my blaster up.
I just got in from trying it again, if you rev it up in 4th and 5th it doesn't do it. Just in 1st 2nd and 3rd. Maybe it's just geared a lot lower than i am used to. I can take off in 3rd just fine!

that makes me feel a lot better knowing yours does it too!
I'm used to reving the heck out of my blaster to get it going.
I miss the 2-stroke. I love the thump and torque of the 4..but the hit of the powerband, the smell of the 2 stroke oil.....ah....fond memories....
Sorry, i'm back now....Maybe when i get more time on the 300 it will feel better, i got about 30 minutes on it today, it's raining so hard, I tried riding in it but only managed to get drenched! From helment to shoes!

Just got my 300EX this past Friday and I had a similar problem. Got home from the dealer and backed it off the truck and went around the yard a few times. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle was fine but if I really got on it, it would bog down. Finally I realize the dealer had left the choke in the middle position. After correcting this it has run great!
