Default 400ex 16 tooth front sprocket?

I was just wondering if anyone has increased there sprocket size by one tooth in the front. i have dmc 2k full exhaust 170 jets and stage 2 cam. in first thru third gear i hit the rev limiter very fast. i was wondering if i went one up on the front sprocket it would decrease accel a little so the rev limiter dosent hit so fast. however, i also dont want a dog at the bottum end. so if anyone has done this upgrade or at least tried it i would appreciate your input.

Going to a 16tooth sprocket will be huge diiference. I would go with changing one tooth down in the rear. On the other hand if you want to try a 16tooth in the front you would only be out about $17.00.

i ran a 16 tooth sprocket on my stock and built bike. i don't mind it at all. the only place i wouldn't recommend it is when your in tight areas. besides that, i won't run stock gearing again. i ride in more open areas where the higher gears are used quite a bit.
