Even if 11cc did create 1 HP - I better get more power than that if I am going to spend $300+ (price of piston, boring, gasket kit, and replating of the cylinder - doing the work myself)
Steven - I enjoyed your review, I didn't think you sounded biased.
Personally I don't find the front end of the TRX to be that light - but as mentioned before, it may be difference in riding style. Another thing that fixes wheelie happy machines is a little bit of suspension sag.
Where's the videos
11 cc's is going to be about 1 to 1.3 HP. I'll take that power anytime.

Did you guys fail to see that this guy is racing a PIPED YFZ against a HRC 450R? I am pretty sure if they were both stock internals with a pipe it would be a little different. I have seen the dyno charts and the R makes more power. It just does.
Nice review by the way, I like un-biased reviews!
How big are the video files?

my video files are 3.5mb each. The honda had the hrc kit which included (new cam, airbox lid, rejetted, and they do something to the pipe) I dont think adding a slip on will do a whole lot if you already have the hrc kit. More then anything it will probably just make the bike a lot louder. The yfz didnt have the free cam mod done yet. Im going to do it this weekend and i think the results on power are going to be disappointing for the honda. Since the honda has the cam and the yfz will now have a good cam setup. From what people claim there should be a significant gain in power on the yfz.

Grizz -
That's not what I read.
What I read was power was similar. Handling was similar, but for this rider, one aspect of the chassis - the front end seemed light. However, another aspect, the rear traction was better. I also read that he was unhappy with his YFZ in a few aspects.
Maybe looking at things thru your blue glasses filters some of that out to make this a 100% positive review for the YFZ and 100% negative review for the TRX?
Much of the rest of this discussion is all speculation.
I speculate if I put nitrous oxide on my TRX450R, it will develop more power than a YFZ with a Turbocharger - why? Because Yamaha's design sucks compared to the Honda. This is about the extent of these lame arguments - a baseless claim followed by little to no hard data.
Give it a rest already. They're both good quads, each with it's own qualities and drawbacks. Acknowledge it and go on.

I will be back out at the dunes this Saturday. I will bring a video camera and host the videos at hondaRs. I have a friend coming with a YFZ GYTR pipe, cam mod. It will be a good chance to line them up, switch quads, make sure tires are the same, get the jetted right, ect.
Stevendsm95gst, I do believe I can host them, let me do some howe work and I will let you know.
