How about just removing all of the seat foam, and make it the hardest, most uncomfortable seat in the industry, just like the YFZ.
Talking about whining!!! You all are a bunch of BABIES!!! Who cares how hard the seat is if your racing it(What it was designed for)!!! All I have to say is SUCK IT UP!!!!!!! That all I hear is how HARD the seat is!!!! IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY! Please Cry about something else other than how hard a "seat" is!!! Its never stopped me from winning! I have 4 Yamaha's with the "SAME" seat!!! You don't see me complaining!

But if the seats on the honda was liek that we wouldnt here the end of it from you. Jackass. And you say you liek the 2-stroke hit? Then why dont you have a 2-stroke? All you ride is 4. If yami made the same quad as the TRX and honda made the same quad as the YFZ you would be dissing the YFZ. Kinda f-ed up

Hmmm what to change?

Lets see I changed just about everything on the 400ex so that could be a good place to start.

Then again the trx450r address the engine, cooling, swing arm rear shock mounting problems and its a little longer and wider so maybe the only thing that really seems to be needing immediate attention is (and this wont be needed by duners or some mx riders) the stupid small fenders.

Sure they must have wanted to make it look like a bug from the front and give it a little bit of z400 or rappy looking fenders but there allomost useless if your running anything wet or muddy. Maybe they look nice to some but I prefer the fenders to catch some of the crap flying off the tires rather than ending up on my goggles.

Other than that it should only need the same things as the yfz, and thats aftermarket a-arms, shocks, swingarm, steering shaft, tires, wheels, fuel tank, cam, porting, hi comp over size piston, skid plates, nerf bars, kill switch, everything posible polished and then some graphics. Sure theres more but that seems like a fair shopping list

The only thing I would change, I am not sure how I would do it, but all I need is Honda haters (who don't have the quad, don't want the quad, and have never ridden the quad) to quit talking **** about it.!!!!!!!!
tellico!!!!!, man!!!!!, you won't shut up about the quad needing a kicker, having a crappy this or that, but if somebody says it has a hard seat, " It was designed that way, get over it"!!!!!!!
Same thing applies to the Honda, I guess just not in your mind.!!!!!!!
I can't quite figure out why it seems like your mission in life is to beat down the 450R. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Save you money for when you need to buy an exclaimation point!!!
Seriously I am pretty happy with it. There are changes I will make, and I guess you could say I wish the factory did it, but then what would I have to do in my garage when I am trying to get away from the old lady?

i dont know why anyone would want to put an electric start on it. first it ads weight and you have to worry about a battery. i always though electric was best until i got a kikstart. i would never go back. its reliable and you dont have to worry about batteries and starters and all that crap.

Now please tell me Mr. KGB where I said anything about a Kicker????????????????? Didnt say anything about Honda have a "crappy" this or that either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Trust me, one thing is for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You do not have to worry about me buying one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mission isnt to beat it down, cuz I already do that with the toys I have now each AND every weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only said for my STYLE of riding the YFZ's powerband suits me MUCH better than a SMOOTH powerband! If you ever get the chance to watch the best of the best, tell me WHEN they worry about a SMOOTH powerband! Example, watch Bubba Stewart in SX!! Watch how long he STAYS on the gas!!! He was the same way with his KAWI 4 stroke that he practiced on in Florida when I was there!!!!!!! He will definately be the BEST rider to ever race Supercross or Motocross and theres a reason!!

Because they are better, and faster for starting... Specialy when you in Mud up to your eyeballs, sitting off camber in a wierd position. Not only that there are only 2 pounds different between the Yami and the 450R. Hardly a penalty. And if you would like you can still have the Kicker on the Yamaha as a backup. THe thread here is about what you would change on the 450R though not bash everyone for what they would change.

garryc660R, you are cool. KGB, from the looks of your "old lady" I doubt you'll need to run from her too much. And finally, Tellico-- I LOATH you!!!!!!!!! < Did those exclamation points get you moist? I mean really, lay of the punctuation you friken dink. You're like a nat at a barbeque, just buggin' the pi$$ out of everybody. And about the seat, NO ONE likes the hard seat of the YFZ! Back when Cannondale started out, they also had this problem and they addressed it during actual production- why can't Yamaha. I can slide around on my 250R or 400ex just as well as I could on a YFZ- it is not a racing issue, it's stupidity. And after a day's riding, there is no monkey butt to suffer through. Not everyone has such a thoroughly callused fudge factory like you must have. If you had the option for a softer seat that was the same thickness, I bet you'd take it. Just as the old man yells to the stray dog, "Getonouttahyer", I say to you- Leave. Your opinions are not valued here and you have a completely closed mind to change. You are useless to myself and every other member on these forums; go away and never come back. We don't like you.

Can I get an Amen?
