You are probably already aware of this, but for those who aren't. In addition to the 185 jet, the needle gets swapped as well. I guess the taper is considerably different. I talked with sparks and they are going to be selling a complete jet kit with the same needles as the HRC kit.

With the mods that I currently have, it is scary fast (acceleration wise). At least it seems that way to me. I'm not saying it is quicker or slower than anything else, it's just that I'm having to adapt to a machine with some pretty serious power.

rYAN- rODSQUAD IS REAL KNOWELEGEABLE in this area. The guy never changes oil in a quad, he just gets a new one. He had a custom built crf450 2 years ago, built a few suzuki 440 with all the killer suspension and what not. Powerwise he will tell you the yamaha has the honda covered. Hopefully he will chime back in on here. There is no doubt the 450r is a nice quad. My compalaints are based on the fact that honda could have and should have done a better job up front. The 400 dollar msrp difference should have been greater but that is beside the point in this thread.

There will be some better kits coming out shortly that will give you a bigger bang for the dollar over the hrc kit.

Uh-oh! I thought I'd just stepped in it...turns out I'm already up to my knees! AHHHHHH!!!

LoL.

I'm not in any hurry, we'll see what the aftermarket motorheads can come up with in the next few months. It wouldn't surprise me if they will be better than the HRC kit. There's ALWAYS something better!

I wouldn't argue with that statement at all, I just wanted the HRC kit because Honda would still warranty the quad if they installed it and I want to try and keep up with the Yamahas.

I was told that honda had to install the HRC kit or it would void the extended warranty. I got this from my dealer and he is a straight shooter. Not to say that he wasn't misinformed, but he called the group within Honda that takes care of the extended warranties.

There has been so much disinformation about it, that it is really hard to say.

If honda covers the HRC kit under warranty that would be cool. I do not even know why yamaha claims they have a warranty. It expires when you load it in the bed of your truck and close the tailgate. LOL

Knowsalot posted in a thread a few days ago that honda is not going to cover a quad that comes in for service with a number plate or numbers on it. Keep that in mind or have a real good dealer.
