First valve adjustment????
#1
I just bought an 04 rancher 350 es and I noticed that the first valve adjustment is after only 15 hours. I have never had an atv, but I know with street bikes, the valve adjustments are after several thousand miles. What do you guys think and do many people follow the manual to a T? So when did you guys have your done? Thanks for the help

I follow the manual pretty close. So far I am convinced my ATV's will run forever too.
If I do a little too much maintenance a little too often, then all I am out is a little time and money. What I do have is two ATV's that are dependable and run excellent.

I do not do my own maintenance, because I am not mechanically inclined. I will tell you that after the dealership adjusting the valves changing oil and adjusting all the things I thought needed adjusting, the bike ran like a raped ape.
The front brakes were fine, but the rear brakes were really poor. They adjusted them, now they are great. Front end needed alignment, I had them set the idle, what ever else they did.
If you are mech, go for it, but I would make sure I had the valves checked when Honda suggests to do it.
