So how much did it cost to get that kind of power . If your emmbarased to say thats ok. I spent enough hopping up my hondas over the last 15 years that I am ashamed that I did it to.

Im glad to hear that shane and belive me i know some times even though a bike is fast some trips you just can't pull it together. my big ds was running like a big turd at sand mt.And i don't mind if you beat me i refuse to go any farther with my 440 it is way to dependale to ruin it. shanebv2-I know how much of a difference tuning can make because with the same motor in my wifes 440 ex i have tweaked and tuned here and there and i have gained about 3 quad lengths for her in performance in a 300 foot sand drag over what it was a year ago.I have messed with jetting for over 25 years but until recently i really didnt realize just how much you can gain by proper jetting or lose with improper jetting but taking the time to get it truly (spot on ) is not something that everyone takes the time to do.We also have paid close attention to all the small stuff like tire selection,proper fuel,gearing for the situation,and even down to proper chain tightness it all adds up to make a very big difference.I know that got kind of long winded but getting the most out of what we have and having the wife beat many quads that she shouldnt even be able to hang with is probably the most satisfying part of riding for me.

 

My Raptor anit a 686 but ive out ran a 686 and 2 440exs and ive only got my motor work done and a Slip on whitebros R-4

 

Shane glad to see you on these forums now!!!ive riddin shanes bike a Little Sahara and man does it have some power!!!it got up and ran away from my lil 440...shane you remember how my clutches werent grabbing???i had broken my clutch basket!!!well my 440 is not longer as slow as it was when you rode it...it also looks totally different!!Did Jay ever get the shifting down on his banshee??

 

Yamaha660r don't hang on raptor03's n%ts. He beat me once a long time and many mods ago. He wouldn't stand a chance against my bike now that is why he hid from me over MLK weekend. The one time he did beat me it was only by 1 bike length and thats a 686 against a 440 and like I said that was many mods ago. He admitted getting beat by shaneb and I can beat shaneb so how is he going to beat me now?

 

duneittilludie I weigh about 180. I'm not exactly alittle guy. I hear shaneb is coming after me now he wants a rematch I only hope he did some more motor work because I have a surprise for him. It's amazing how you can get a big HP gain from such a small change.

 

How will you beat him is the question. His Raptor will no longer be a mild 686 when it goes back together. So I wouldn't hang on being close to him when he was on a stage 1 cam, and stock carb's.

 

Ds650RaCeR the old 493 is working much better now, when you rode it it had 50% leak down ...
